Man had cocaine hidden in pants
8:00am Saturday 13th October 2012 in News
THE passenger of a car stopped by police in Ammanford was found to have a bag of cocaine concealed in his underpants, Llanelli magistrates heard.
Ethan Zak Carter was said to have experienced “a wake-up call” by his arrest.
Carter, aged 20, of 46 Llandybie Road, Woodlands, was fined £90 and ordered to pay £85 costs after pleading guilty to possessing 0.12gms of cocaine. He was also ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
Prosecutor Dennis Davies said Carter had been a front-seat passenger in a Citroen stopped by a mobile police patrol.
A strip search at Ammanford police station revealed a small bag of white powder, later found to be cocaine, in his underpants. Mr Davies said the drug was valued at £6.
Mr Gareth Jones, for Carter, said the cocaine was for his own personal use. “He has been dealing with drug and alcohol problems and has now stopped taking them,” he added. “This was a wakeup call.”
