MoT testing facility to be removed from Ammanford's VOSA site

MP Jonathan Edwards has branded the decision by the UK Government to remove MoT testing facilities from the VOSA site in Ammanford’s Tirydail Lane as “a blow to the local economy”.

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency has announced that it will cease annual MoT testing of trucks and buses at the site next March.

In 2008, it was announced that, by 2012, 85 per cent of statutory tests would be carried out at Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs).

“This is bitterly disappointing,”

said Mr Edwards. “This will be a blow to the local economy as many independent hauliers and bus operators rely on the local service.”
