Housing 'threat' to Ammanford green site

RESIDENTS of an Ammanford estate aim to fight plans to build 16 houses on an area they claim is “a haven” for wildlife.

County planners will shortly consider an outline planning application from Treharne- Jones Associates.

But people in Myddynfych say the area – known locally as “The Green” – should not be turned into a housing estate.

Resident Tracey Curtis said: “There’s just so much wildlife living here. There areowls in the trees and foxes in the fields.

Children play on that green and people take their dogs there.”

And local county councillor Deian Harries is also opposed to the plans. “The impact such a development will have on the environment must be taken into account,” he said.
