Rev Davies, aged 74, passes away

A RETIRED vicar from Ammanford, Roy Gabe Davies, passed away at his home in Milford Haven last month at the age of 74.
The son of David John and Ada Blanche Davies, and brother of Howard Gabe Davies, he was born and grew up in Wernddu Road.
After retiring from the church, Mr Davies had lived in Monmouth before moving to Milford Haven in 2004.
His funeral service will take place in the Pembrokeshire town’s St Francis Roman Catholic Church at 9.30pm this Friday, June 8, and then at Parc G w y n Cremat o r i u m , Narberth, at 11.30am.
Mr Davies was educated at L l a n d o v e r y College and the University of Wales, Lampeter.
After national service in the army, he was a curate in Saundersfoot and Milford Haven before serving as the vicar of St Julian’s Church in Wales in Newport as well as at parishes in Wolverhampton and Suffolk.
He was a member of All Saints’ Church in Ammanford.
