AN AMMANFORD girl is set to represent Carmarthenshire in the Wales Grand Final of Miss Earth this summer.
Kelly Rowland, who works in a metal recycling yard in Ammanford, was successful in qualifying for the competition, which aims to find “a green, glam and gorgeous”
girl to represent Wales in the Miss Earth finals in Cardiff in August.
Kelly is to help promote a cleaner and healthier environment in her local community, for the chance to walk away with The Green Award on the night.
She must also raise funds for Miss Earth’s community project Girls4Trees, for street clean-ups and community projects.
Organisations are requested to submit their bid to benefit from the funds raised from Miss Earth finalists.
“Working in a metal recycling yard is not the most glamorous of careers, and probably not the chosen career of most girls who enter beauty pageants, but I really hope to go on to win,” said Kelly.
