Llandeilo crime rates 'the lowest in years'

LLANDEILO is currently experiencing the lowest levels of crime the town has seen in years.
PCSO Roger Anthony told a recent meeting of the town council that current crime rates in Llandeilo were “very, very good”.
The news was part of a downward trend in crime during recent months, with PCSO Anthony’s monthly updates to the council highlighting fewer and fewer incidents within Llandeilo.
“These are the lowest crime figures in the town for years,”
he told them.
However, the decrease came as something of a blow to council proposals to install CCTV cameras in the town at a cost of around £40,000.
“The Welsh Assembly Government no longer gives grants for the installation of CCTV cameras,” said PCSO Anthony.
“If you want cameras, the council will have to pay for them itself, but the amount of crimes currently being committed simply does not justify it.”
