Tycroes OAP admits crash offence

A TYCROES pensioner who drove out of a car park into the path of a motorcyclist, leaving him with serious injuries, has admitted careless driving.

Janice Williams, 73, of 44 Teglan Park, was fined £300 by Llanelli magistrates, with prosecution costs of £200 a £15 victims’ surcharge and six penalty points.

She had previously denied the offence, but changed her plea on the day of her trial.

The court was told that Williams drove a Citroen Saxo out of the newsagent’s car park in Tycroes as a motorcyclist was passing from the direction of Pont Abraham.

She pulled into the path of the machine, causing serious injuries to the rider and damage to both vehicles.
