FORENSIC evidence police had hoped to link to the socalled “Wolfman” of Pantyffynnon tips has been ruled out by experts, the Guardian can reveal.
Officers searching for missing Wayne Morgan had believed the evidence – taken from “a scene of suspicious activity” – might provide them with a breakthrough in their continuing search.
Mr Morgan has been living an alternative lifestyle on the wooded tips for several years and is now officially classified as a missing person.
Nowa police source has disclosed that officers remain convinced Mr Morgan is in the area and might even be aware of the search taking place.
“We have found a number of newspapers in dens on Pantyffynnon tips – including copies of the Guardian,”
he said.
“We still feel Wayne’s around and, if he’s going to be found, the chances are it’ll be a Guardian reader who will spot him.”
Officers are understood to have inspected an apparent newlair found on the tips last week.
