Towy Valley pair on burglary charges
8:00am Thursday 19th April 2012 in News
A PAIR of Towy Valley men are to face the crown court over charges of burglary and diesel theft.
Sion Richard James Watson, of Rakefoot in Cynghordy, near Llandovery, and Steven Lee James, of Greenfield Farm, near Cilycwm, stand accused of targeting a property known as Llwyn Bellan in Llandovery some time between March 18 and 19.
Appearing before Carmarthen magistrates, 29-yearold Watson admitted stealing a quantity of diesel belonging to property owner Gareth Lloyd, but entered no plea to the charge of burglary.
James, also 29, is currently in hospital and was not present in court.
Defence solicitor Mike Reed entered no plea to both charges on James’ behalf.
Magistrates agreed to commit the case to the crown court for trial.
Watson and James will next appear before Carmarhen magistrates on June 6, when the case will be transferred to Swansea Crown Court.
