A CWMGWILI chapel is likely to close in the next couple of months, due to dwindling membership.
Libanus Chapel, which opened in 1880, now has only 27 members.
Secretary Garfield Rees, who has held the position for over 30 years, has written to Llandybie community council asking if they had any use for the building. Cllr Alun Davies reminded colleagues they had considered having a polling station there as the village hall was not entirely suitable.
“But it would be a lot of money just to keep it open for an election,” he conceded.
Community clerk Megan Bevan commented: “There seems to be nothing this council could do with the chapel.”
