Befriending service for elderly lands grant

First published in News

OLDER people living on their own in Ammanford and the Gwendraeth valley will be able to get out and about and make new friends, thanks to a £1m new befriending service.

Launched on February 28 across west Wales, the scheme will set up some 40 befriending groups with the help of the Big Lottery Fund.

Organisers hope The West Wales Befriending Links service will help older people make the most of later life.

Project manager Rebecca Thomas, from Ammanford said: “Age Cymru Sir Gâr regularly gets calls from older people who want to meet likeminded people.”

'' older people who want to meet likeminded people'', just doesn't make any sense at all.
