AMMANFORD Post Office has reopened following the shock closure of the town’s main branch in Quay Street last Thursday.

The Guardian understands that the doors were closed following reports of discrepancies in the finances at the branch.

The Post Office is understood to have carried out an internal audit of the branch and called in the police.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating an allegation of fraud-related offences in the Ammanford area.

“Two local people, a male and a female, have been arrested and released on bail pending further police inquiries.”
