A PENYGROES woman and her carer have each been ordered to pay £85 court costs after they admitted assaulting a supermarket security guard, an off-duty fireman and a shop worker in a row over discount vouchers.
Christine Cummins, of 106 Norton Road, was given a conditional discharge after she kicked fireman Craig Flannery in the back and spat in the face of Tesco store worker Gavin Cook during the bust-up.
Stephen Selby, of the same address, was sentenced to a 12-month supervision order after he admitted grabbing guard John Watkins by the throat and carrying a lock knife.
Magistrates in Llanelli heard how 53-year-old Cummins had used a voucher to buy items in the Ammanford Tesco on February 11.
A row erupted when staff refused to donate the difference between the value of the voucher and the cost of the goods being bought to charity.
Cummins was thrown out of the store, infuriating Selby who was waiting outside.
The 50-year-old went inside and confronted staff, leading to a scuffle.
When Mr Flannery and Mr Cook went to the aid of Mr Watkins, Cummins returned to the store and joined in the melee.
Cummins admitted to charges of common assault while Selby admitted common assault and possessing a bladed article.
