THIS Saturday, March 27 Llandeilo RFC will entertain Laugharne in a Division Three West fixture and are using the occasion to raise awareness of testicular cancer with their Check Your Tackle day.

On the morning of the match Llandeilo RFC supporters Gwylim Hughes and Tony Martindale are undertaking a sponsored cycle ride from the White Horse Inn, Llandeilo, to the Prince of Wales pub in Aberaeron and hope to be back at the club’s ground, Cae William, in time for the kick-off.

The team will play in a pink strip sponsored by the Royal Ivy Bush Hotel in Carmarthen and one of the shirts will be auctioned after the match.

All the proceeds from the day will be divided between the John Hartson Foundation and the Llandeilo Injured Players Fund.

The former Arsenal, Celtic and Wales footballer set up the foundation to raise awareness of the condition after himself suffering from testicular cancer.

John will be the guest of honour at the evening fundraiser along with former Wales lock Craig Quinnell.
