A PLAYGROUND which residents say is too large for a small community has been refused retrospective planning permission by county planners.
Villagers claim the playground’s management committee has wasted public money because the facility, on land adjoining Neuadd Bro Fana, Ffarmers, near Llanwrda, received a Big Lottery Fund grant.
Recommending refusal, planning officer Graham Noakes said there was nothing to justify a departure from policies that seek to safeguard the privacy and amenities of the occupiers of existing dwellings from inappropriate development.
