AMMANFORD is set to give Prince Charles a right royal welcome on Friday when he makes a rare visit to the town, prior to moving on to the Towy Valley.

The Prince will be visiting Abaca Organic, an organic mattress factory based at Tycroes, in what is understood to be his first visit to Ammanford since 1981.

On arrival, he will be greeted by Rhiannon Rowley, managing director of Abaca Organic, who will give him a tour of the factory.

The Prince will subsequently head up the Towy Valley, where he will visit Llandeilo Transition Town project, meet Llandeilo mayor Charlotte Leadbeater and tour the country market in Llandeilo Civic Hall prior to a reception.

Later on in the afternoon, Prince Charles will travel to Llandovery to open the town’s new police station.

“I’m sure the people of Ammanford will give him a very warm welcome,” said town mayor Irena Hopkins.
