THE Amman Valley woman asked to leave an Isle of Wight shop for speaking Welsh to her sister has now been offered a free holiday there.
Rosemary Dean, of Maes Gareth Edwards, Gwaun cae Gurwen, and her sister Ann were shopping in a Shanklin gift shop when asked to leave by shop manager Sue Pratley.
She admitted saying she wished they would speak English but insisted she only asked them to leave when the sisters took issue with her comments.
An angry Mrs Dean made a formal complaint to the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
Now David Pugh, the Isle of Wight council leader and chief executive Steve Beynon have stepped in to offer the sisters an all-expenses paid holiday.
Mrs Dean she would now be consulting with her sister as to whether or not they would accept it.
