Police attend 'sword threat'


Armed police were called to Ystalyfera on Friday following an incident in the town where a 40-year-old was seen brandishing a Samuri sword.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to an address in Pant Y Gwanyd Road following reports of a man in possession of an offensive weapon making threats.

“Firearms officers were deployed in order to ensure the safety of officers and members of the public.”

“A man was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with making threats to kill.”
