LOCAL AM Rhodri Glyn Thomas has met with the Deputy First Minister and Minister for Transport, Ieuan Wyn Jones, to outline concerns relating to the Cwmgwili junction along the A48 which has been the scene of two fatal accidents in recent months.
Speaking afterwards, Mr Thomas said he was pleased that Mr Jones had agreed to look into the dangers the junction posed.
" Whilst there will need to be a lot of thought given to the specific problems the junction has, Ieuan and the Trunk Road Agency do recognise that action has to be taken to prevent further accidents, "he added.
Mr Jones described their meeting as "very productive."
He added: "Clearly this is a dangerous stretch of road and safety measures need to be looked at."
