Caerbryn 9 Trimsaran 0 LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League Division 2

A MINUTE'S silence was held before kick-off in memory of the three youths killed in the road accident in Trimsaran over new year.

This seemed to inspire Trimsaran who started the game brightly and struck the inside of the right post within the first five minutes.

Luckily for the relieved Caerbryn defence the ball ricocheted to safety and was cleared.

Minutes later at the other end, Aled Williams chased David Roberts's through ball and put the home team in front.

Caerbryn then took control of the game, dominating all areas and counter-attacking with pace and direction.

The left flank proved a crucial outlet as Roy Tomlinson used his pace to beat the Trimsaran defence and reach the goal line many times.

Caerbryn's second goal came from a Tomlinson cross, Williams sliding the ball past the helpless defenders.

Mark Rees scored the first of his hat-trick by being first to a loose ball in the box and looping the header over the stand-in keeper into the far corner.

Trimsaran changed their goalkeeper during half-time with manager Dave MacIntosh leaving the gloves to lead the attack. Although he gave some strength to the Trimsaran play, he could only watch as Caerbryn scored more in the second half.

Aled Williams scored his third and fourth goals and Andrew Lloyd powerfully struck a penalty into the roof of the net.

Substitute David Morris found time and space in the box to poach an eighth goal while the rout was concluded with Mark Rees completing his hat-trick with the goal of the game, a subtle lob over the onrushing keeper.

A great start to 2006 for Caerbryn who proved their capabilities in this division while Trimsaran will be hoping for inspiration to improve their league position.
