Wellfield 0 Llandeilo 6 LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League Division 2

LLANDEILO produced their most prolific display of the season with a comprehensive victory over hapless Wellfield.

After a week off you would have thought Llandeilo would have been a little ring rusty, but this was far from the case as they produced some excellent football.

They could have gone two up in the opening minutes, Tom Trippett came close with a long range shot which was well saved by the home keeper and a minute later man-of-the-match Jason Morgan saw his finely struck effort graze the post with a fierce swirling shot.

It wasn't long before Llandeilo broke the deadlock as a fine defence splitting pass by Morgan found Keith Dainton who fired a low shot into the bottom corner.

Wellfield knew they were in for a tough time as Llandeilo sprayed the ball around confidently and in the 20th minute Steffan Thomas scored the second of the game with a blistering effort that would have graced any Premiership match.

Even though Llandeilo dominated the half, they could only go into the interval ahead by two goals.

The second half was an exhibition as Llandeilo produced their best football of the season. Every player was on top form, especially the striking partnership of Keith Dainton and Jason Smith.

Great link up play by Dainton led to Smith converting a close range chance that led to Llandeilo's third.

Huw Evans was exceptional for Llandeilo's fourth as a pin-point 50 yard pass dropped kindly for Dainton to fire home his second of the match. Wellfield were all at sea at this point with Smith scoring a fifth with a mazy run and fine finish.

The icing on the cake came for Llandeilo and Dainton with ten minutes to go as a long throw by Llandeilo keeper Simon Rees was picked up by Dainton who ghosted passed the defence to score his hat-trick.

Overall, Llandeilo were exceptional as poor Wellfield didn't even have a shot on target for the whole of the 90 minutes.

l Next week Llandeilo's push for the league crown is put on hold as they travel to Premiership challengers Pontlliw for the third round clash in the Senior Cup.
