Cefneithin Youth 5 Llandeilo Youth 44

LLANDEILO consolidated their place at the top of the league with a comprehensive victory over in a game that was played at the fastest of paces on a dry, wide pitch which ideally suited the outstanding visiting three-quarters.

Full-back Matthew Jacobs was the star of the first 20 minutes, running back any lose possession that came his way. He scored the first try and made the second after a scything run through the midfield with Joe Williams touching down, however, it was Jacobs who scored his second within ten minutes.

Prior to half time the fourth try was run in by Aaron May to leave a 20-0 half-time score.

After the break Cefn came out with all guns blazing and after a period of concerted attack their outside-half made a delightful chip to the winger who collected and scored in the corner.

This score seemed to rejuvenate Llandeilo who after a ten minute quiet period set off on the offensive again.

Replacement full-back Celfyn Davies finished a superb team effort to score close to the sticks, which he also converted. Aaron May scored the sixth, again converted by Davies, and the 'ferret with merit' Robert Jones playing at scrum-half ran in number seven after good pressure on the defending outside-half.

From the kick-off, the ball fell to the grateful hands of No.8 Nathan Hughes who set off on a barn storming run from his own 25. Defenders parted like the red sea and Hughes looked like finishing what he had started, however, a last ditch tackle by Cefn's full back allowed him to flip the ball to supporting Welsh Under-18 prospect Gareth Morgan who scored a well deserved try.

Llandeilo remain unbeaten in the league scoring an average of 45 points per game. This Saturday Llandeilo travel to Loughor in the 1st round of the Welsh Cup.
