A BID is being launched to create a footpath linking the new Pencrug housing development in Llandeilo to the town.
Members of Llandeilo Fawr Town Council have called a site meeting at the Pencrug estate in a bid to get the idea off the ground.
Llandeilo mayor Ros Bellamy said: "We thought it would be nice to have a footpath going from the estate into the town. There is an old footpath already in place, but we would like to see it being linked to the new development at Pencrug, effectively creating a new section to the existing pathway.
"There are a lot of families moving into Llandeilo now, which is good to see. Should this go ahead, it would mean that parents living at Pencrug would have a route by which they can walk their children to and from school."
