AN YSTRADGYNLAIS man who is a risk to the public has been sent to prison for four months by town magistrates.
Justices heard that 23-year-old Andrew Cornish, of Penybryn, Penrhos, failed to comply with community rehabilitation and punishment orders made by Llandrindod Wells magistrates in December 2003.
He was convicted then of driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, careless driving and speeding.
The court was told that Cornish failed to keep a total of four community punishment and rehabilitation appointments in September, 2004.
Magistrates said no method of dealing with Cornish other than a prison sentence was appropriate because he drove while disqualified in breach of a court order.
They added: "The court regard the fact that he drove without due care and attention and at speed in a housing estate, while disqualified, and attempted to avoid apprehension as an aggravating feature.
"We regard him as a risk to the public."
Cornish was also convicted of failing to surrender to custody on November 30, 2004.
