THE OWNERS of a Llangadog newsagent and post office have paid tribute to the community after winning a top award.
Morgan’s Newsagent and Post Office, which is owned by Win and Richard Morgan, won the rural village shop/post office award at a recent Countryside Alliance Awards for Wales ceremony.
It is the second successive year the couple have won the award – much to the delight of Mrs Morgan.
“You never get fed up of winning awards and this means so much because we know our customers have voted for us,” she said.
“We owe it to our customers and to the community because by supporting us, they have helped us win the award.”
Mrs Morgan said defending the title was harder than she imagined but, by continuing to develop new schemes for the village, the business proved a worthy winner.
New classes about digital photography have been set up in the shop and Mrs Morgan has also done more than her share of work elsewhere in the community.
“We launched a seniors lunch in September and even through the recent snow, we had 29 members out,” she said.
“People here now realise how wonderful it is to be living in such a community as this,” she added.
