IF you fancy doing something fun this February half term, then a Towy Valley estate could be the perfect place for you.

National Trust Cymru is hosting a number of activities and events at its venues across Wales this half term and this includes the Dinefwr estate in Llandeilo.

There will be a chance to visit the 17th century Newton House at the heart of the estate for a range of fun activities for all the family.

You can explore the house to learn about life at Dinefwr and hunt for the hidden Lego figures and get creative with a number of drawing activities in the basement.

There will also be a special Patterns of Dinefwr printing and painting workshop on Thursday, February 15. This is inspired by the hand painted wallpaper in the Archaeology of Home exhibition and will give a chance for attendees to add their own contribution to a special wallpaper which will be displayed in the Ale Cellar.

There will also be a range of board games in the Drawing Room. The café will be open for hot chocolate and more. You can also explore outdoors with a welly walk in the 800 acre parkland or explore the remains of the 12th century Dinefwr Castle.

The Dinefwr estate is open daily. Newton House and the café are open from 10.30am to 3.30pm, the parkland is open from 10am to 4pm and Dinefwr Castle is open from 10am to 3pm. Normal admission prices apply but the events are of no extra charge. More information can be found at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/wales/dinefwr.
