A LLANDEILO man was banned from driving for repeatedly failing to give police information.

Mitchell John Thomas, 32, of Dynevor Avenue, Llandeilo, was found guilty of failing to provide information by Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 16 and was sentenced on January 15.

He committed the offence on June 23 when he failed to provide South Wales Police with information relating to the identity of the driver of a Fiat Scudo which was believed to have been involved in an earlier offence.

He was given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £660 fine for this offence.

He was also found guilty of a second charge for the same offence, as on July 27, he failed to provide South Wales Police with information relating to the identity of the driver of a BMW which was believed to have been involved in an earlier offence.

He was given another six points on his licence and ordered to pay £660 fine for the offence.

He faced a third charge of the offence, where the details were the same as the second charge and he was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay £660 fine, £792 surcharge and £90 costs for this offence. The high surcharge cost comes as the surcharge was imposed on this charge for all three of the offences.

David Bevan, 63, of Trinity Close, Pontarddulais, was found guilty of failing to provide information by Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 11 and banned from driving by the court as punishment on January 8.

He committed the offence on June 27 when he failed to provide South Wales Police with information relating to the identity of the driver of a Mercedes SLK Kompressor, which was believed to have been involved in an earlier offence.

He was banned from driving for six months and ordered to pay £660 fine, £264 surcharge and £90 costs.

Vincent Restall, 47, of Heol Rhyd Ddu Fach, Ystradowen, was found guilty of failing to provide information by Cardiff Magistrates Court on January 12.

He committed the offence on July 27 when he failed to provide South Wales Police with information relating to the identity of the driver of a Fiat Grande Punto which was believed to have been involved in an earlier speeding offence.

He was given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £660 fine, £264 surcharge and £90 costs.
