FOUR Bangladeshi men look set to be deported after immigration police swooped on an Ammanford kebab shop.

Officers from the UK Border Agency visited Shaan Tandoori on Quay Street after receiving a tip-off about illegal immigrants working at the takeaway.

Three men, all from Bangladesh, were found working behind the counter, and were arrested at the scene.

A fourth Bangladeshi man was arrested from the flat above the shop.

The Agency is now taking steps to remove all the men, aged in their late 20s and early 30s, from the UK as soon as possible.

The owner of Shaan Tandoori, who has not been identified, received a warning over employing illegal workers and may now face future visits by immigration officers as well as prosecution.

Jane Farleigh, Regional Director of the UK Border Agency in Wales, warned other businesses in the area that the raid signalled their intent.

"We are determined to crack down on illegal immigration wherever we find it and this successful operation in Ammanford shows that we are achieving results.

"There are legal routes through which people can live and work in the UK and we have made it clear that we will not tolerate those who choose to come here illegally.

"Not only do illegal jobs provide a pull factor for illegal migrants, but they can lead to major abuses of the immigrants themselves and see genuine businesses being undercut by rule-breaking employers."

the propriators of shaan tandoori are keen to point out any bad behaviour from local youths but isn't it time they took a look at themselves being that they are have been committing offences in relation to hoarding illegal immigrants.an incident occured involving my2 friends and myself in jan 08 where we got attacked by the shaan workers.they wrongly accused us of smashing their window, the police asked us about it and agreed that we were just getting blamed.the shaan workers obviously couldnt get over this and gripped me and held me for about 10 mins.then all of a sudden about 7 of the workers attacked my friend and beat him badly.then my female friend went to video record it on her phone and the worker(who serves behind the counter)smashed a brick into her face.i phoned the police and WE got arrested for racially aggravated public order offence.how comes the police arent defending the innocent and siding with who now appear to be illegal immigrants/importers of!! get rid of the lot of them i say!!! no wonder we cant look after our own and the NHS is over stretched!!!!!!!!

Well said Michaela.

Two things are very apparent from this episode.

Firstly the crass behaviour by the police in automatically treating it as a racist incident against the take away, and secondly the whole crisis of illegal immigration.

When I stood for election recently, both Labour and Plaid accused myself and my colleague Cllr Kevin Edwards of racist behaviour, alleging that there was no evidence of illegal immigration in Carmarthenshire.

Well here we have it in black and white. They were wrong and we were very right!

Will we get an apology? I doubt it very much.

These four Bangladeshi men are just the tip of the iceberg. Not only do they contribute nothing to our country in National Insurance or Income Tax, but you can be sure that they will take full advantage of all our hard earned benefits without blinking an eye. The proprietors of the Shaan should be prosecuted and the place shut down. I shall certainly never purchase there again.

another incident of beurocracy gone mad as far as the police are concerned, seems that if ur not britsh ul get all the help u need in this country whereas those of us who contribute hve to fight for everything,on another matter the police of this country also need to put their priorites right i know the lady who wrote the first comment has had a bit of a past but that doesnt give the police the right arrest her or her friends while the foreigners get off with nothing i had an issue the other day where i had to ring 1 our friendly local bobbies about the fact that we had a person living near us whos been convicted on child pornography charges and all we wanted 2 know was wether they felt he posed an immediate risk 2 the children around him and guess wot!!! i was told that they had a duty of care towards him not a mention about the duty of care they have 2 the children around him,the system stinks well and truly, the ppl with clout in this area need 2 wake up and see wot goes on in the neighbourhood and do something cos they dont do nothing otherwise council, councillors, police allike

Well said both Michaela and Ammanford Resident. What has happened to you both is quite simple. You are second class citizens in your own Country and the concerns of the Offender now outweighs the rights of any victim or potentially threatened individual who
merely wants to check that they are not under threat.

What happened to Michaela is simply beyond belief. It is now acceptable in our multi-cultural wonderful society that the Police will take no action on an assault on a white girl and her pals because the culprits were black. Imagine if the roles were reversed, Michaela and her friends would have been charged with a race hate crime, immediately, branded a rascist, been whipped into court the next day and sentanced.

Thank God that Britain is waking up and voting BNP.
