A SARON man has avoided jail after being found guilty of assault.
Jamie Short, of Saron Road, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
He had previously denied committing assault in Cross Hands on July 16, however, the 34-year-old was found guilty at trial.
For the assault, Short was handed a four week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122, and cover costs of £625.
At his previous court appearance on August 21, Short admitted possession of a pocket knife, possession of cannabis, and criminal damage.
He was sentenced to prison for 20 weeks, concurrent to the assault sentencing, which was also suspended for 12 months.
There was no separate penalty for the other two offences.
