Terminal illness charity Marie Curie would like to thank Glynhir Golf Club members for selecting the charity as the beneficiary for their Captain’s Day in June.
The event, organised by Club Captain Tom Askew, raised £1,111 and was presented to Amman Valley Fundraising Group’s Chair Person, Juliette Hadley, on Saturday, September 8.
Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for West Wales, Chris Roberts said: “We are so grateful to Mr Askew for choosing Marie Curie during his tenure as Club Captain, and to all Glynhir’s members for their contributions during their golf day.
“Every £1 donated will help us care for more people.”
The charity is now appealing for adventurous individuals from the area to take on the challenge of a lifetime – The Vietnam Trek for Marie Curie Wales in Autumn 2019.
A spokesperson for Marie Curie said: “This challenge is a fantastic opportunity to explore the traditional charm and rare beauty of this untouched part of Asia while raising money for Marie Curie.”
