Llandovery Sheep Festival organisers have confirmed that this weekend's event has been cancelled due to the bad weather forecast.
The annual event was due to take place this Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23.
A statement provided by festival organisers reads: "We are very sorry to have to announce that this year’s Llandovery Sheep Festival has had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
"Our marquee provider raised concerns about both erecting on Friday and dismantling on Monday, as well as the safety over the weekend with high winds forecast and a yellow weather warning in place.
"Local pubs and hotels have told us they will continue with their entertainment over the weekend.
"The committee are already looking at the possibility of using indoor venues next year to enhance the experience and to minimise the impact of adverse weather condition in the future.
"To take advantage of next years improved offer, stall holders may choose to roll their booking over to next year or, if they prefer, a refund will be provided.
"We will process these options as quickly as we can, but in the first instance, please send us an email to info@llandoverysheepfestival.co.uk to confirm your preference.
"If you have a place booked on any of the craft courses, we will email you directly and arrange the refund.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused, but we are sure you understand that the decision was taken in the interest of safety."
