Ammanford’s annual Gwyl y Twrch Trwyth Festival has been postponed due to the bad weather forecast.

The Boar Festival was planned to take place this Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23 but organisers have made the decision to reschedule the festival following advice from Met Office.

A spokesperson for Ammanford Town Council said: “Sadly due to the weather situation and having spoken to the Met Office, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this weekends event.

“This was done for several reasons but mainly for health and safety and to be able to offer the best event possible.

“We all want to have a splendid event for all with the weather on our side, but heavy rain and high winds are forecast so this decision had to be made.

“However we are looking to reschedule the event for two weeks time on October 6 and 7. This will be confirmed next week.

“Many thanks for your understanding and it means we can try and make it even better.”

Any traders who had planned to be involved in the event have been asked to contact Ammanford Town Council.
