A DOG WARDEN patrolling the Amman, Gwendraeth and Towy valleys has been suspended after a woman alleged he was behind the theft of a £1,000 pet, the Guardian can exclusively reveal.
Carmarthenshire Council officials confirmed the worker, who has not been named, has been temporarily relieved of his duties.
The revelation came after a woman reported the warden to the police after becoming suspicious about a missing pug - a breed that can be worth £1,000.
A council spokesman said: "A member of our staff has been suspended following an investigation into procedures dealing with the control of stray dogs."
