FOLLOWING its big comeback last year, Tumble Carnival is heading back to the streets of the village this Saturday.

Tumble Events Team, a group of four mothers from the community, have taken it upon themselves once again to organise Tumble Village Carnival.

Before it’s return in 2017, the carnival was last hosted in the village in 1998.

All residents from upper and lower Tumble are invited to take part in the big day which is taking place on Saturday, July 28.

Tumble Events Team members Dawn Mckee said: “We set up the events committee in October 2016 as we felt as if we didn’t know anyone in the village anymore.

“Following the success of last year’s carnival, we made enough money to host this year’s event which is brilliant.”

Tumble Village Carnival will begin at 12.30 with plenty of prizes, floats, stalls, competitions and much more followed by evening entertainment at Tumble Workingmen’s Club and Tumble Hall.

The parade, which this year has an open theme, will start at 12.30pm at JMS Aggregates and the procession will go down High Street down to the Workingmen’s Club where residents will leave their floats to head to Parc y Mynydd Mawr which will be transformed into a carnival atmosphere.

There will be a prize for the best float and the best fancy dress walker.

The Carnival Royal Family has been chosen following a competition held earlier this year so make sure you keep your eyes peeled during the parade so you can greet them by giving them a wave.

Dawn added: “This year’s parade is being led by Celtique Twirlers.

“Residents can join in by walking with the parade and we are looking forward to feeling the community spirit again this year.

“More streets are getting involved with floats this year which is excellent.”

There will be plenty to see and do at the park from getting involved in the tug of war match, having a brose at the various stalls to having fun on the funfair rides and loads more.

Entertainment will be provided by the winner of Tumbles Got Talent and local band Lost Come Sunday.

This year also features a children’s zone which is guaranteed to keep the little ones entertained.
