An Ammanford salon has been recognised with a prestigious award at a national hair and beauty awards ceremony.

Nue Hair and Beauty Clinic, situated on Hall Street, scooped the Top Rated Salon of the Year award at the Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards at Cardiff Stadium earlier this month.

Clients firstly voted for the salon to be a part of the awards, then owner Holly Beisley found out that her business had been shortlisted in the Top Rated Salon of the Year category.

The judges consider then scrutinise the salon’s website, Facebook page, customer reviews and offers within the business.

Holly told The Guardian: “We were shocked to be shortlisted in the category but when we found out we won we were even more shocked.

“We were up against some big names from across the country and to be recognised by a panel of experts is amazing.

“It just shows that just because we’re from a small town like Ammanford it doesn’t hold us back.”

The salon offers hairdressing, beauty and grooming treatments and provides a range of services from modern contemporary through to traditional styling.

“All of us are still on a high at the salon and to be commended for our work is excellent,” added Holly.

“I would like to thank salon manager Emily Williams for her hard work along with all the other members of staff.

“I would like to thank all our clients for voting and their support. It means a lot”

The future is looking bright for Nue with exciting plans in the pipeline for the business, which underwent a revamp in 2016.

“As well as winning the award, the salon was awarded a five-star salon rating from the Good Salon Guide last week which is amazing,” she said.

“I am hoping to open another salon in the near future.”
