This week has been literally life changing for FFIT Cymru leader Nic Davies.

The 34-year-old has seen a dramatic change in his health thanks to taking part in the eight-week S4C show.

Despite fighting through a severe ear and throat infection the Penygroes resident has exceeded his weight loss target once again and has also received some “fantastic” health news.

Nic told The Guardian: “This week has been hard as I have been unwell with a throat and ear infection so I have struggled a bit.

“Thankfully though, none of this has prevented me from training. I’ve stuck to the plan and kept the exercise up, despite feeling unwell.

“At the start of the week I was chuffed to have beat my 3lbs weight loss target once again, losing 4lbs.

"This has taken my total weight loss to 35lbs, which is beyond anything I thought I’d achieve.

“The experts measured me the other day and I’ve lost the equivalent of two foot from my neck, chest and waist. When I started I said I’d be really pleased if I ended the process in the 15 stone bracket.

"I’ve now achieved that and I’ve got two weeks to go, So I’m really really pleased.

“This has been an incredible experience and It has actually changed my health entirely. Before starting I took medication for high blood pressure, however after seeing my doctor last week I’ve now been taken off this.

"That’s incredible for me.

“It just proves that eating healthily and exercising regularly lead to a far healthier lifestyle.

“This was the boost I needed ahead of the 5k challenge in Neath this weekend.

"I have been training this week when I’ve not felt too ill, but overall I’ve been trying not to over exert myself in preparation for the run.

“I’ve enjoyed all of this so much that I’ve actually signed up for the Cardiff Half Marathon in October! This is my first half marathon but it will give me something to work towards after I finish the programme.

“I’m determined to keep up the health and fitness, I’m never going back to how I was. It would be offensive to all these people who have supported me and helped me if I did.”

“In a weird way, I’ve loved every minute of this.”
