Dyfed-Powys Police has issued a warning to people in trades to increase their security, following two van incidents in the Tycroes area.

The separate offences happened some time over night on Saturday, April 28.

Between 6pm on April 28 and 10am an April 29, a power tools including a Duwalt jigsaw, Duwalt core drill and laser level, were stolen from a white Ford Transit van at Brynhafod, Tycroes.

Police received a second report of a van break in at Tirprys around midnight on April 29. The van was broken into, but nothing was stolen as they were disturbed by a neighbour.

It has prompted the police to appeal for witnesses –and are advising van owners to increase their vehicle security.

PC John Brereton said: “I urge van owners, and particularly vans with power tools in, to be vigilant when loading and unloading their vans and report anything suspicious to police immediately.

“Increase security measures to keep property safe and also if anyone is offered tools in suspicious circumstances, please do not buy them and let police know immediately via 101. You can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
