Police in Ammanford are investigating a spate of quad bike thefts from farms in the area.
Three quad bikes have been stolen from the Llanwrda and Llanddeusant areas sometime between Sunday 7, and Monday 16, April.
Sergeant Ciaran Ryan has urged people to be vigilant of suspicious vehicles and people in the rural communities.
He said: “I ask that local farmers take appropriate action to minimise the opportunities of these thefts occurring. This includes removing keys from ignitions after use, locking barns or outbuildings wherever the quads may be kept.
“I ask that any suspicious activity is reported to police for it to be investigated accordingly. I would also ask that quad bikes are not stored, if at all possible, at derelict locations with no security.
“I am aware that thefts of quad bikes and farming machinery causes disruption to farmers’ work, as well as the financial implications, and I would like to reassure the public that police are thoroughly investigating these matters and are actively patrolling these areas, to target those responsible for committing crimes in our area.
“I encourage anyone living in rural communities to remain vigilant to this type of theft, and to report any suspicious vehicles or behaviour to police by phoning 101.”
