RESIDENTS in Llandovery are being urged to take advantage of a one-off chance to get rid of their electronic rubbish right on their doorstep.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s waste team will be at Llandovery carpark on Tuesday, January 16 from 12 noon until 3pm when residents will be able to take old electrical items large and small to be recycled - from cookers and fridges to hairdryers and coffee makers.
All those attending will also have the chance to enter a prize draw to be in with a chance of winning one of three Amazon vouchers worth £200, £100 and £50.
Domestic items only will be taken, no commercial electricals.
Executive Board Member for the Environment Cllr Hazel Evans said: “This is an excellent opportunity for householders to dispose of their electrical waste; particularly if they have larger, bulky items to get rid of.
“We recycle as much as possible; helping to increase our recycling rate and reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.”
