BBC Wales are looking for first-time parents to take part in a new documentary series.

Production company Plimsoll Productions are on the hunt for six first-time parents across south Wales from Abergavenny to Swansea.

The team hope that the documentary series will help educate the public about the realities of giving birth, the complexities, the frustrations and the unbridled joy of having a new born baby and the vital roles that everyone, from the professional midwives to the parents and family have to play.

A spokesperson for the show said: “We wouldn’t film the birth itself, but the series will follow new born babies and their parents over the first six months of their lives.

“Looking at monumental moments such as their first smile, first rollover and first nappy change.

“We will also be looking at the behaviours of the child from a scientific point of view with help from our experts.”

There is no deadline at the moment, but the production team are encouraging people to get in touch ASAP as they will be visiting the new parents over the next few weeks.

The series is due to go out on television sometime at the end of 2018.

The parents will receive a beautifully crafted film of the first six months of their child’s life.
