Bargain chain B&M opens its new store in Cross Hands this weekend.

The long awaited store will be open from 9am on Saturday, October 28 at Cross Hands Business Park.

The new colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community.

They chose Wales Air Ambulance, who will be taking centre stage as they officially unveil the new B&M store, alongside local Chairman of Carmarthenshire, Irfon Jones and his wife, Jean.

The charity currently operates four ambulances to provide lifesaving rapid response emergency care and since they launched in 2001 they have attended over 21,000 missions, touching the lives of many thousands of people.

They respond to roughly 2000 missions every year, with each one on average costing £1500.

In addition to opening the new store, the representatives also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all their hard work in the local community.

The store manager, Chris Ellis, said: “The team from Wales Air Ambulance really stood out for us as they go the extra mile to help save the lives of local people, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.

“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

He also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open Saturday and show customers their new B&M Cross Hands.”

The newly developed store has undergone a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme and created 70 jobs for local people.

B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, home ware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal ranges.

The store will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range.
