Bargain brand B&M has announced it is set to open a brand new Homestore store in Cross Hands, in a welcome boost to the local economy.

The newly developed store is due to open its doors for the first time on Saturday, October 28 and will create 70 jobs for local people at the site on Cross Hands Business Park.

B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, pet range, health & beauty and homewares, as well as its very own garden centre.

The store will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range.

A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of even more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in a few weeks.”

Job roles are advertised on the B&M careers website and range from sales assistant, to floor managers and cleaners.

Plans for the new development, published by Fletcher Morgan and Conygar, also feature frozen food chain Iceland, Pets at Home, Jenkins Bakery, Domino’s Pizza and Costa Coffee.

Carmarthenshire county council leader Cllr Emlyn Dole said: “This is fantastic news for Cross Hands, bringing further opportunities for residents to shop and a magnificent jobs boost to the area.

“Cross Hands Growth Zone has built a firm foundation over recent years with the Food Park, new link road, the Strategic Employment Site as well as the Cross Hands West development which will strengthen the business and employment opportunities for the area.”
