A woman was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision involving a horsebox over the weekend.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue told The Guardian that a woman had been taken to hospital in an ambulance following the incident on the B4556 between Gorslas and Llandybie shortly before 9am on Sunday, September 17.

Three other road users who were involved in the crash were already out of their vehicles when fire crews arrived.

A fire service spokeswoman said: “Two crews from Ammanford attended a collision on the B4556 involving two private vehicles and a horsebox, following a call-out received at 8.58am.

“Three people were out of their vehicles before arrival, while one female was medically trapped.

“The vehicles were stabilised, and the casualty was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

“Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to extract the casualty."

The road was closed but re-opened when crews left the scene just before 10.30am.

The woman was later discharged from hospital. 

The Carmarthen WPCA Autumn Medal Show was taking place at the Amman Valley Pony Club in Llandybie over the weekend and also the Trwch Trwyth Festival was being held in Ammanford.
