Two Cardigan girl guides have been expanding their horizons by spending a month in India.

Sadie Mansfield and Helena Walker are members of Cardigan Senior Section Girlguiding and will spend most of August representing Girlguiding Cymru on the sub-continent.

During their visit they will complete 'Discovering Your Potential' course on leadership, community and advocacy.

The pals will also be completing a community action project and learning about Indian culture and traditions, history and people.

The fundraising for the trip has been a year's work for the girls and they have had support from the High Sheriff of Dyfed, Cardigan Guides, Girlguiding Ceredigion and Teifi District, Cardigan Senior Section, the Trefoil Guild, Aldi supermarket, Cardigan Mothers Union and Sadie and Helena's families and friends.

They have had stalls on Christmas and summer fairs, a horse and dog show, raffles, collection buckets, baked cakes and applied for grants.

They would like to thank their supporters from the bottom of their hearts for their help and financial support to get to India.
