A weight-loss coach from Ammanford has raised over £600 for by changing her locks for a good cause.

Paula Griffiths has dyed her hair red to raise money for Marie Curie to mark her tenth anniversary as a Weight Watchers coach after some encouragement from members of her groups in Ammanford, Llandybie and Carmarthen.

Paula, 50, said: “I normally have brown hair so this was a big shock for me.

“I decided to raise money for Marie Curie because they looked after a friend of mine and also members of my classes also have their own stories with the charity.

“I only expected to raise about £100 so when I managed to get £601.50 I was so shocked and I would like to say thank you to everyone who donated and to Hunkz and Honeyz for dying my hair free of charge.”

It is not the first time the group has raised cash for charity as they raised over £1,500 last year for Wales Air Ambulance by hosting a charity ball.

The group are now organising an 80’s night at Saron Hall on July 1 to raise money for the chemotherapy unit at Glangwili Hospital.
