Want to make your voice heard in the General Election? Then make sure you are registered to vote.

Although it is too late to register to vote in the county and town council elections taking place next week, there is still time to register for the General Election on June 8.

The deadline for registration is Monday, May 22, it can be done online at gov.uk/register-to-vote. Alternatively contact Electoral Services on 01267 228889.

People who are already registered to vote need not reapply.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s electoral services division works to support elections and referendums.

They provide advice and support on elections, registration and voting to anyone who needs it.

Electors can vote in person at a polling station between 7am and 10pm. You will be sent a poll card telling you where your polling station is.

Those who require a postal vote for the General election must complete and send an application to the Electoral Services Office by no later than 5pm on Tuesday, May 23.

Residents who would like a proxy vote for this election (where someone votes on their behalf), must complete and send a proxy application form to Carmarthenshire County Council Electoral Services Office to arrive no later than 5pm on Wednesday, May 31.

In an emergency - health or work reasons - where you cannot go to the polling station in person you can apply for an emergency proxy no later than 5pm on the day of the poll - Thursday, June 8.

Results of the candidates elected for Carmarthenshire will be published on the website at www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk.
