An Amman Valley pensioner has gone the extra length to raise money for a cancer charity.
Dafydd Wyn, of Tirycoed Road, Glanaman, recently swam 1500 metres in the annual Swimathon to raise money for good causes held at the Wales National Pool in Swansea.
This was the third consecutive year the 77-year-old has taken part in the challenge for charity.
Dafydd managed to raise £150 for Marie Curie.
He said: “I felt that having to swim a minimum of 30 lengths of the 50 metres pool instead of my usual 20 lengths has been beneficial to my swimming.
“I would like to thank my family and friends for their generous contributions this year again to a worthy cause.”
