Fundraisers from the Amman Valley have raised money for a family centre after climbing Pen y Fan on the weekend.

Friends of Betws Family Centre climbed South Wales's highest peak on Sunday, April 2 in aid of the centre, which serves as a drop-in, free of charge service for families with children 0-11 years old.

The centre, in Treforis, provides a safe and friendly environment for parents, grandparents and carers to play with their children in a safe place with excellent facilities. It offers a warm and welcoming house where you can meet other families and enjoy new experiences with their little ones.

Clare Edwards, centre manager, said: "We all had a fantastic time walking together in the sunshine, enjoying the amazing views. We are all grateful to all our walkers, families and the local community who have supported us to raise money. Our just giving page is still open for another 30 days, please support us and donate what you can.

"I would also like to say a big thank you to Karen who lead the Friends of Betws Family Centre Group and worked hard giving up her spare time to organise the event."
