A man has been taken to hospital following a collision in Ammanford this morning. 

Emergency services attended at the scene of an accident at Dyffryn Road just after 9am this morning where a white Vauxhall van left the road and rolled down an embankment. 

The road was closed following the accident but it reopened around 10.40am. 

Officers at the scene advised motorists to use an alternative route. 

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 9.01am this morning to a one-vehicle collision on Dyffryn Road.

“Two crews from Ammanford are at the scene and are awaiting recovery of the vehicle.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed that they were also at the scene. 

An ambulance spokesperson said: "We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene, where our crew were supported by doctors from the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) Cymru, and a man was taken to Swansea’s Morriston Hospital." 

Firefighters from Ammanford were also called to the collision.
