Ammanford has been painted red with celebrations for Comic Relief.

Shoppers and traders have dressed up for the occasion and school children have been taking part in bake sales to raise money for the cause.

Ysgol Bro Dinefwr pupil Amber Richards, 14, and her sister 12-year-old Charis Richards decided to host a bake sale on Quay Street with all proceeds going to Comic Relief.

South Wales Guardian:

Fundraising enthusiast Amber, from Llandybie, said: "I enjoy raising money for all the different charities.

"I have raised money for Macmillan in the past and I am currently selling lumebands for UNICEF.

"I am glad I have had help from my family for the bake sale as I am not a very good baker."

Specsavers Ammanford are also getting invovled in the fundraising activities.

Gavin Howells, pre-reg optometrist, will endure other members of staff waxing his legs at the Quay Street store at 2:30pm this afternoon.

The store is also selling novelty ‘waving hands’ glasses – in adult and children’s sizes – priced at just £2, with all money raised going straight to Comic Relief.
